MRS. LILLIS DIES AT HOME OF SON - Mrs. Jane Foster Lillis, 82, mother of B.C. Lillis, 239 Clark Avenue, died about 5:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the home of her son, with whom she had been visiting since last June. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia, which followed an illness of about a month from other causes.
Mrs. Lillis was born in Oswego, N.Y., July 10, 1841, and was married in her girlhood home, leaving soon afterward for the south. She and Mr. Lillis were living in New Orleans at the outbreak of the Civil War. They went from there during the war to Ottawa, ILL, where they lived until Mr. Lillis' death and where Mrs. Lillis had made her home most of the time since then.
A sister and three sons and three daughters survive, besides 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The sons are B.C. Lillis of Billings, W.B. Lillis of Rockford, IL and DeForest Lillis of New York. The daughters are Mrs. A.C. Duke of Nevada City, CA, Mrs. Alma L. Dorothy and Mrs. Beecher W. Jones of Chicago. The sister is Mrs. Elizabeth Dean of Eldorado, MO.
The funeral probably will be held Friday, but definite arrangements are awaiting the arrival of relatives from the east.
