John Dazio was born to John and Mildred Dazio at Jeff Davis Hospital December 8, 1933. John grew up in Denver Harbor of Houston and had many friends in his lifetime. The tales of John's childhood adventures are best told by his dearest childhood friend, Ray Willette which always keep laughter in our hearts. John's love of airplanes led him to enlist in the Air National Guard November 9, 1949 (age 15) and serve in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, honarably discharged November 5, 1952. He met Mary Jane Forman in 1956 and married in May 1957. The couple had two children. The oldest, Elizabeth Ann, was adopted April 1970 and the youngest, Jennifer Marie was born on John's birthday, December 8, 1971. John worked as a truck driver for Charles G Heine Company until it closed and then worked for Peden Equipment until his retirement. John became ill in approx June 2002 with respiratory infections treated as pneumonia until severe chest pains hospitalized him in September 2002. He had emergency heart surgery to drain fluid from around his heart and almost immediately diagnosed in the 4th stages of lung cancer. The cancer had spread aggressively and a sudden stroke left him with impaired speech and vision. In the days to follow John had several more strokes, leaving him in a coma like state. An infection set in to his body which he could no longer fight leading to kidney failure and finally sepsis. He passed on to heaven in the company of his family and dearest friends on October 18, 2002. John is dearly missed by his family, many friends and closest neighbors.
