Janie was the third of fifteen children born to John Washington and Elizabeth A. (Lane) Kivett. She married Sanford Green Souther and they were the parents of four daughters: Orie Lee, Myrtle May, Edith Rachel and Virginia Dare.

RAMSEUR-Mrs. Janie Kivett Souther, 92, of Rt. 2. died Saturday night in the Constant Care Nursing Home in Siler City following an extended illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Loflin Funeral Home.
Surviving are widower, Sanford Souther; daughters, Mrs. Orie Trogdon of Rt. 2. Ramseur, Mrs. Myrtle Westmoreland and Mrs. Rachel Walker of Florida, and Mrs. Dwayne Hodgin of Rt. 1, Asheboro; sister, Mrs. Ella Wright of Ramseur; brother, Clarence Kivett of Rt. 2. Ramseur.

RAMSEUR-Funeral for Mrs. Janie Kivett Souther, 92, of Rt. 2. who died Saturday night in the Constant Care Nursing Home in Siler City following an extended illness. will be 2:30 p.m.today at the Holly's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church,
where she was a member. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Harry Meadows, the Rev. Henry Reece and the Rev. John Gilbert. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
