Chris Butler, 80, of Lemon Grove died Saturday. He was born in Texas and was a retired letter carrier with the US Postal Service. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a director and dance instructor at the La Mesa Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife, Eve Butler; daughter, Linda Comer of Spring Valley; son, Ronald Butler of Los Angeles; stepdaughter, Bonnie Layson of La Mesa; stepson, Roger Pickens of Blythe; and numerous grandchildren.
