Legendary British Pop Rock Singer/Actor. Faith was one of Britain's biggest pop singer of the 1950s and 1960s. Born Terence Nelhams in Acton, West London, England, Faith made his first appearance at the legendary 21's Coffee Bar in London's Soho District. He was discovered in early 1959 by producer Jack Goode, who in turn introduced him to band leader John Barry. He was invited to audition for a role in the musical "Drumbeat," which later became a big hit and made Faith a big star. He later began recording on the musical labels Top Rank and HMV, but no success ever came out of them. He was signed to EMI's Parlophone Record Label and released the single, "What Do You Want" in November 1959. The song soared to #1 on the British Pop Charts in the span of a 19-week run. In 1960, he had six songs on the Top Ten and three in 1961. By 1962, the Beatles had emerged and became very successful; with this, Faith's career began to go downhill. In 1963, he recorded the song "The Last Time." Also that year, he began to record with the musical group, The Roulettes and, in 1965, they released Faith's last album, "Faith Alive." His other songs include, "Poor Me," "Somebody Else's Baby," "Made You," "Nervous Breakdown," "The First Time," "Lonely Pup (In A Christmas Shop)," "Message To Martha," "Baby Take A Bow," "First Time," and "Cheryl's Goin' Home." After his musical career began to fail, he went on to become a very successful actor in films, television, stage, and musicals. His films include, "Beat Girl" (1961), "Stardust" (1975), "McVicar" (1980), "Murder On The Orient Express" (1985), "Foxes" (1980), and "The House That Jack Built" (2002).
