Donelda "Donna" Bowie, age 56, of Tecumseh OK, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2011, in Oklahoma City OK. She was born November 12, 1954, in Wichita KS to Olen and Ava (Armstrong) Plato. She was raised in Oklahoma City and El Reno OK, graduating in 1973 from El Reno High School.


Donna enlisted in the Army Reserves 95th Division, and that is where she met the love of her life, William "Bill" Bowie, Jr. They were married on January 8, 1976, in Shawnee. After their marriage they raised their family in Tecumseh and have lived there since.


She first worked in the family business, Mid-State Waste Management, then became a seamstress and was co-owner of "Two Ladies Sewing Shoppe." Donna was a member of The Order of Eastern Star, Tecumseh Chapter #30, twice attaining "Worthy Matron." She was very active with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Donna enjoyed Christian music, daily devotionals and daily prayers. Her family was the focal point in her life.


She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Raymond and David Plato.


She leaves her husband Bill, of the home; daughters Amy and husband Alex Foster of Tecumseh, Stephanie Partain of Tecumseh, Pamela and husband Paul Donnelly of Earlsboro OK, and Patricia Crossman of Shawnee; brothers Tommy Plato and wife Brenda of Calumet OK, Marcus Plato and wife Dana of Irmo SC, Olen "Steve" Plato, Jr., of Gulfport MS, Ron Plato and wife Alex of El Reno OK, Terry Miller and wife Carol of Wichita KS, Michael Miller of Dodge City KS, and Jeff Miller and wife Song of Tumwater WA; sister Laurel Ann and husband J.O. Norris of Ft. Worth TX; sister-in-law Linda Plato of Azle TX; mother-in-law Virginia Sue Bowie of Tecumseh; grandchildren Makayla Partain, Caleb Partain, Ashley Rhea, Mark Rhea, Tyler Donnelly, Rikki Donnelly, Leslie Donnelly, Michelle Hays, and Thomas Hays; and numerous other family and friends.


Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Cooper Funeral Home chapel in Tecumseh with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee.
