Mary E. Thomas, 89 years of Smithfield, Pa. passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on January 30, 2008.

She was born March 2, 1918, in Waynesburg, Pa. daughter of the late Frank Wilson and Flo Grimm Wilson.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Paul Robert Thomas who died on May 21, 1984, a daughter, Linda Thomas, two sons, Russell Eugene Thomas and Richard Thomas, two sisters, Agnes Koval and one who died in infancy and three brothers, Homer Wilson, Jesse Wilson and Mike Wilson.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairchance, Pa.

Mary was a homemaker and was formerly employed as a Line Typist with the former Waynesburg Democrat Newspaper.

Surviving are her loving family, two daughters: Johnetta Black and husband, Otho Black of Smithfield, Pa and Pauletta Sue Thomas of Smithfield, Pa.; son: Paul Robert Thomas, Jr. and wife, Mae of Waynesburg, Pa.; grandchildren: Joe and Cherrie Harim, Carolyn Fox and companion, Jim, Christine and Pat Corwin, Paul Robert Thomas III and Melisa Thomas, Robert Moniger and wife, Angela and Tracy Thomas and companion, Gary McDonald; great grandchildren: Joey, Jeremy, Erica, Justin, Brandon, Chad, Tyler, Codey and Lynlea; sister, Margaret Breese, Waynesburg, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Saturday from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, February 3, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Services begin at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott C. Hoppe officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg, Pa.
