Nathan met and married Billie Ynez Pratt on March 1, 1946 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and they had eight children; Joe, Deon, Danny, Janet, Roger Dale, Donald Franklin "Donnie," Yolanda and Glenda.
Nathan was drafted in World War II and served in the 866th. Engineer Aviation Battalion, Headquarters Platoon, Company "A", Section II, from Feb. 1, 1943 to Nov. 1, 1945 and was discharged in Tokyo, Japan where he reenlisted in the 9829th TSU-CK Engineering School, Headquarter Company, Tech Fort from Nov. 6, 1945 to May 5, 1947. He served in the United States, Philippines, Guam and Japan. Upon his discharge he rejoined his wife and son in Keota, Oklahoma.
After the war they moved to California with their three sons. They lived in Visalia, Richmond and Milpitas before settling down in Alviso where they bought a home and raised their children.
He worked for the Ford Motor Company in Milpitas, California from 1953 until they closed the plant in 1981. They sold their home in Alviso, California and they moved to Mustang, Oklahoma to enjoy their retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years in 1996 and her ashes were placed in his arms.
