Hervey W. Cherry, 56, until four years ago a resident of Chandler, died at 8:30 o'clock Monday morning at the Mother Frances hospital in Tyler. He had been ill only five days. Hervey moved to Van from Chandler four years ago. He was a native of Clarksville, Tennessee; and was a member of the Woodmen of the World lodge.

Surviving him are his widow, Leora Cherry; a son, Ernest of Chandler; a daughter, Gloria of Van; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Bernard and Mrs. Gussie Cockrell of Kerens and four brothers, D.C. of Trinidad; A.C., Charles and Eugene.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chandler Methodist Church with Rev. G.F. Moon officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Burks-Walker-Daniel funeral home of Tyler.
