Theodore is the son of Aaron Hellyer and Eliza Fowler. Theodore married Jemima E. Whitmer.

Celebrate 60th Anniversery
WILTON, lowa, (Special) - Mr and Mrs Theodore Hillyer entertained at a family dinner at their home in celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary. Mrs Hillyer, who was Jennie Whitmer, the oldest of a family of 10 children of Mr and Mrs James Whitmer, was born in Cedar county April 30, 1859, and has lived all her life in this community. Her marriage to Theodore Hillyer took place Dec. 7, 1882, at the family home. The Rev. J. W. Hubbard officiated. Mr. Hillyer was born in Henry county, Illinois, Dec. 22, 1861, and came to Cedar county with his parents, Aaron and Eliza Ann Hillyer, in the spring of 1865. They have one daughter, Mrs. Osterhoudt of Sigourney, sons, Earl and Galen of Cedar county, 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Guests at the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Osterhoudt and sons Beryl and Kenneth, and a granddaughter of Sigourney; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hillyer, Gladys, Lorraine, June and Bud, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hillyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hillyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Hillyer, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Nebergall and Byrant, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hillyer and Rolland, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Hillyer, Mr. and Mrs. J. Kahler and Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Sieck of Lowden.
