A veteran of the United States Air Force, he retired as a Master Sergeant in 1960 after 20 years of service which included World War II duty at Hickam Field on Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, 1941. He was also stationed in Canada, Great Britain, Massachusetts, California, Arizona and Washington.
Mr. Eaton was employed at The Big E Antiques in Kennebunk, ME for many years. He also worked in sales at several retail carpet businesses in Sanford, and Greenland, N.H.
Members of his family include three daughters, Fae A. Stocks of East Barrie, Vt., Suzanne J. Hasty of Milton, Fla., and Patricia H. Salim of Tampa, Fla.; four sons, Dan S. Eaton of Las Vegas, Nev., Michael G. Eaton of Londonderry, N.H., David R. Eaton of Northfield, N.H., and James R. Eaton of York; 15 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen in 1999.
