John Collenbaugh, 81 years old, died Friday morning in the Clay County Hospital at Brazil, following several weeks illness. Mr Collenbaugh was one of the retired school teachers of Owen County, having taught for 41 years in this county. His last term was taught in Jackson township. The most of his school teaching was within his own township, Jefferson. During his active life he was an active member of the United Brethern Church of Coal City, teaching a Sunday School class and working in all departments of the church of his choice.

Years ago he was married to Miss Minnie Bealmear, who preceded him in death about five years ago.

Following death the body was taken to the Schoppenhorst Mortuary at Clay City.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Coal City Evangelical United Brethern Church, and burial was made in the Fiscus cemetery.

In the passing of Mr. Collenbuagh that community has lost a man of fine character.
