In the early morning hours of November 18, 2010 Waltham Auxiliary Firefighter Jonathan Lindsay was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Rt. 128 while heading to his job as an EMT for Cataldo Ambulance Service. Jon had lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the guardrail.

Tragically on the morning of Sunday November 21st, 2010 Jon succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident. While on his way to become a paramedic, Jon saved lives as an EMT. His family continued his legacy by donating his organs so that he could continue to save lives.

Jonathan Jon R. Lindsay of Waltham, died Sunday morning November 21, 2010 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at the age of 21.

Born in Boston on March 28, 1989, beloved son of Gary W. and Leona A. (Gaudet) Lindsay of Waltham, Jon was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 2007 as a member of the National Honor Society, he furthered his education at W.P.I. for Fire Protection Engineering, received an EMT Certificate from Massachusetts Bay Community College, and had just finished the Paramedic Program at Northeastern University. He was employed by Lifeline and Cataldo Ambulance Services.

Jon was passionate about fire service and had been a Waltham Auxiliary Firefighter since the age of 16. Jon had a strong work ethic and had started his own welding business as a young man J.R. Welding. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual always keeping himself busy. In his spare time when Jon was not working he was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America Troop #248 Order of the Arrow, he played the guitar and banjo, would write and sing as member of a 5 piece band known as Rhed, was a member of the Bay State Antique Club,the Maynard Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping and taking care of his pet cockatiel Zeke. He most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents Jon is survived by his loving sister Jennifer "Jen" Lindsay of San Diego, Calif., his cherished maternal grandmother Margaret E. (Roach) Gaudet of Waltham, his dear niece Julia, and many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. Paternal grandson of the late Roswell and Leona Lindsay and maternal grandson of the late Joseph D. Gaudet.
