GALVESTON - Abelle B. Butler, 68, passed away October 30, 2003, at Gulf Health Care Center in Galveston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2003, at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont, Galveston, Texas. Graveside services will follow at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m., until servjce time on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Abelle was born November 8, 1934, in Crowley, Louisiana, to James Butler, Sr. and Roberta Goodwill Butler. She attended Crowley Industrial High School and worked in Crowley until she
relocated to Galveston, Texas. Here, she was employed at Isenberg's Jewelry Store, retiring after
many years of service. Receiving Christ at an early age she always showed her love for the Lord by her care for her family and others. She loved people and brought joy to the hearts of
those who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson Goodwill; sister Goldia B.
Mosley; brothers Alfred A. Butler, Ben Butler James Butler Jr., Grady Butler, Curtis Butler and Joseph Butler; grandson Carlton Saunders Edwards, Jr.
