He loved to work. John worked until he became ill. He also loved people and would help some one whenever he could.
John was marred to Esther on March 25th, 1922. They moved to Suffolk. They had six children, Aileen, John, Rudolph, Dorothy, Lois and Quincy. Lois and Quincy died in infancy. Esther and John had been married for 58 years at the time of his death. John died at home and was buried at Oakland Christian Church Cemetery in Chuckatuck, Virginia. He was 78 years old.
