Doris Vivian Hinson was born to Thomas and Catie Cash in Little Rock, Arkansas on October 26, 1932 and passed away in Turlock, California on January 17, 2011. She was 78.

Doris was a resident of Snelling for many years. She worked for Tri-Valley Growers for 8 years. After retirement, she decided to stay at home and enjoyed her time as a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Hinson and son, Mickey Brackenridge.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Sousa of Snelling, CA, Kathy Jones of Modesto, Ca and Ricci Brackenridge of Turlock, CA. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
