Pfc. Donald Blake, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Ollie Blake, who was seriously injured on May 6 in the Italy theater of operations, is in a critical condition, according to messages fto his parents from the war department. The first telegram coming Monday reported his injuries and a second received Tuesday reported his condition as serious. Pf. Blake was inducted into the service on June 24, 1943, and received basic training in an infantry unit at Fort McCallam, Ala. He spent his 20th birthday, on Nov. 7 at his home and later in November was sent to Nor Africa. From there he went to Italy and the family reported he was in action on the Anzio beachhead.
