Dorothy M. Valentino

Dorothy M. Valentino, 86 of West Chester died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at her home. She was the wife of the late Jack Rome Valentino. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late George Grove and the late Edna Mae Hutton Grove. Prior to her retirement from West Chester University, she worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone in West Chester. Dorothy was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity in West Chester. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, camping and gardening with her flowers. Dorothy was a loving mother and grandmother and especially loved having her family with her at her home. She is survived by her children, Georgetta DiOrio and her husband George, James Valentino and his wife Arlana, Patricia DiNapoli and her husband John A., Phyllis Powell and her husband Richard, all of West Chester. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christine, Arlynda, Melissa, Janet, Jennifer, Stephanie, Rick and 19 Great Grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH. com. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
