Richard H. "Dick" McGinnis, 75, of Jeffersonville, died Friday, July 16, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be private and will be handled by Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, Jeffersonville.
McGinnis was born July 24, 1934, in Pittsburgh, Penn. He moved to the Indiana area in 1964. He was a successful entrepreneur, establishing Southern Indiana Temporaries, a temporary help business for which he won several awards. After selling the company, he served as a consultant for several local businesses. He enjoyed his social life and spending time with his family. He lived life to the fullest each day.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Ann; his son, Rick McGinnis and his wife, Bronica; his daughters, Pam Dixon and her husband, Bill, and Nancy Legg and her husband, Keith; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Toby.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Humane Association of Clark County or the Center for Lay Ministries.
