Coquille - Nellie Louise Martindale, 72, died Friday, Feb. 18, at her home at 246 East Main St. after a sudden illness.
Born Sept. 23, 1899, in Brush, Colo,. she had lived in the Coquille area for the past 41 years. She was a member of Laurel Camp 2972, Royal Neighbors of Americal, for which she served as oracle and district oracle; /eagkes /ayxukuart 2196, where she was inside guard and Pioneer Methodist Church.
Mrs. Martindale is survived by her widower, Charles E; sons, Richard of Coquille and Billy of Reedsport; daughter Helen Carter and DMargie Buoy of Coquille and Anabelle Scherer of San Diego, Calif.. Also surviving ar a brother , Eugene Jeffers of Brush, sister, Eunice Jeffers of Coalinga, Calif; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 10 a.m. in the Coquille Chapel of Coos Mortuaries with theRev. John Qualley of the Methodist Church officiating. Internment will follow in Norway Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Fund in her memory.

Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Martindale were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary on May 4th at the Eagles Hall in Coquille.
Hosting the affair were their children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Don (Helen) Carver, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Shearer, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Martindale, Mr. and Mra.s Dennis Buoy, Mr. and Mrs. Bill White, Mr. and Mrs. Steve Shearer.
Serving the cake were Dawn Marie Martindale and Larry Martindale. Coffee was served by Leann Martindale and Lisa Martindale. Punch was served by Joel Buoy.
Gary Martindale attended the girft table. Tom Buoy and Shelly White attended the guest book.
Out of town guests were Bonnie Burns for Modesto, CA; Irene Martindale of Coos Bay, Lucille Johannesen from Coos Bay, Lucy Crockford from Lakeside; Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeCosta from Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Van Spores from Springfield, Mr. and Mrs. Al Burch from Powers, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Morris from Bandon. Others included Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morris from Myrtle Point, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Plott from langlois, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Shearer from San Diego, CA, Mr. and Mrs. Bill white and Julie from Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martindale, Leann, Larry and Gary from Reedsport, and Linda Phares from Reedsport.
Approximately 150 guests attended.
Following their marriage the Martindales lived in Colorado and came to Coquille in 1931. Martindale worked at Bill's Place for 23 years and retired in 1968.
They have 5 living children and 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
