Harvey was born February 12, 1940 in Clinton, IA to Henry E. and Eleanor J. Medema Schipper. He graduated from Morrison High School in 1958.
He married Viola Simpson in 1958 in Morrison. Harvey served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Harvey was first employed by Volckmann Furniture Company in Morrison and later by General Electric in Morrison for 37 years.
He was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, a member of the Morrison Sportsman Club, a member of the Brushpoppers Motorcycle Club and the Drifters Car Club. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (Charles) Sedig of Morrison, IL; one son, Michael Schipper of San Francisco, CA; three grandchildren, Katie, Colton, and Quinn Sedig; two sisters, Linda (Dave) Hook and Beth (Gary) Milnes both of Morrison; ten nieces and nephews; one aunt, Marian Houzenga of Fulton, IL; special friend and companion, Pat Miller of Morrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jerri Lynn Wilson.
