The following information was gathered from the genealogy data base of FIND A GRAVE member Big $TICK #46833858.

Mrs. Ella Blanche (Smallwood) Stickles, age 75, a resident of Bunker Hill, Berkeley Co., WV and the widow of the late Charles C. Stickles died Monday night shortly after 8 PM in the City Hospital of Martinsburg. Mrs. Stickles had been stricken at her home Suday afternoon.

A native of Clarke County, VA the deceased was born 13 Feb 1882 and was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Fleming) Smallwood; her husand Charles predeceased her in 1951.

Surviving Ella are 9 children (5 daughters and 4 sons) and 3 foster children (all sons); 22 grandchildren and 16 g-grandchildren. NOTE: there is data suggesting that Ella and Charles produced 10 children from their marriage.

The body was taken to her late home and will be brought back to "Melvin T. Strider Colonial Home" for services Thursday afternoon at 2 PM. The Rev. Robert Moates of the Bunker Hill Methodist Church will officiate the service, burial will be then made in Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville, Clarke Co., VA.
