In Loving Memory Lorna K. Johnson December 30, 1939 – July 2, 2011

Lifelong area resident, Lorna K. Johnson, 71, died July 2, 2011, at Regency at The Park, 420 SE Myra Road, College Place, Washington. Lorna was born December 30, 1939, in Walla Walla, to Kenneth and Ethyl Fletcher. She attended Walla Walla schools and was a Wa-Hi graduate. On July 4, 1959, she and Chuck Johnson were married in Walla Walla. They had two sons, Marty and Chuckie. She worked at Birdseye Cannery, was a teacher's aid at the Touchet schools, worked for Three R's Montessori School, College Place Bindery, and at one time helped with senior care. She also had an estate sale business and took some time to do property management including buying and selling fix-up homes. She enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, making cards and doll-collecting. She also took faithful care of her son, Chuckie, for 30 years while he was living in a nursing home. She loved spending time with her granddaughter, Sierra, and great-grandson, Brayden; they were the light of her life. Lorna was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Walla Walla City Seventh-day Adventist Church. Family and friends may pay their respects from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla. The funeral service will be 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Blue Mountain Memorial Gardens, and a reception will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Touchet Education Foundation or The Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children through the funeral home. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Sheron Johnson of Touchet; her granddaughter, Sierra Johnson and great-grandson, Brayden Johnson, both of College Place. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1996, and her son, Chuckie, in 2006.
