Son of Charles Badeau Secord, grandson of Laura Ingersoll Secord, Famous Canadian known for alerting British Troops of planned attack on Queenston Heights, Ontario, Canada during the War of 1812, which was decisive in the preservation of Canada as a distinct country. Charles' prior birth location of Queenston, New Brunswick listed on his find a grave profile was the result of confusing this Charles with another Charles Secord who was born (and died) in Queenston, New Brunswick, Canada. Charles' younger brother was born in Queenston, Lincoln (Niagara), Ontario. Charles' birth record says he was born in the city of Welland in the former Welland County (Now Niagara Region) so I am going with that until more records turn up. Thanks to Jenny Watton for her painstaking research that made this connection possible, with only one error.
