OBITUARY :
IRA M. KENNEDY, 58, of 130 E. Walters Ave., GreencasUe, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his daughter and son in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton H. Main of 444 N. Allison St.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of Mrs. Mary Maun Kennedy, a patient at Piney Mountain Home in Caledonia, and the late Warren Kennedy.

He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the First Christian Church in Waynesboro, the Greencastle American Legion, the Mercersburg V.F.W., the Loyal Order of Moose in Charles Town, W.Va., and the Order of Redmen of Wlliamsport, Md. He was an electrician and was last employed by the Waynesboro Electric Co. in Waynesboro.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Ada Weaver Kennedy; one daughter, Mrs. Carlton H. Main of Greencastle; one son, Donald R. Kennedy of Rt. 2, Waynesboro; four sisters, Mrs. Amos Hykes of Rt. 3, Greencastle, Mrs. Leigh Henicle of Waynesboro, Mrs. Robert Cosy of Rt. 2, Greencastle, and Mrs. Elva Cool of Rt. 6, Hagerstown; seven brothers, Walter L. Kennedy and Ralph F. Kennedy, both of Rt. 3, Greencastle, Lester Kennedy and Raymond Kennedy, both of Hagerstown, Jacob Kennedy of Waynesboro, Orville E. Kennedy of Rt. 3, Waynesboro, and Warren C. Kennedy of Rt. 2, Greencastle; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Brown's Mill Church at Kauffman Station, with the Rev. Samuel K. Saunders officiating.

Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Minnich-Miller Funeral Home in Greencastle on Saturday evening from 7 to 9. There will also be viewing at the church from 3 to 4 p.m.
