Robert A. Hofstetter, age 74, of Fremont, WI died Wednesday, April 7, 2010.

He served in Korea with the 105th Howitzer Artillery in the 24th Infantry Division and 1st Cavalry Division.

Bob is survived by two sons: Rocky Hofstetter, Hartland, WI, and Rob Hofstetter, Brookfield, WI.

Robert A. Hofstetter, age 74, of Fremont, WI died peacefully on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 18, 1936, in Granville, WI, the son of the late Frank and Viola (Miller) Hofstetter.

Bob served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea with the 105th Howitzer Artillery in the 24th Infantry Division and 1st Cavalry Division.

On December 5, 1956, Bob married Elaine Condella in Waukesha, WI, and they lived in Brookfield.

Bob worked for Rosenberg Northwestern Elevator Company doing construction and service for 40 years.


Following retirement, Bob and Elaine moved to Lake Poygan, in Tustin, WI. Elaine preceded him in death on June 6, 2006.

Bob loved hunting, boating, fishing, snowmobiling and music. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially adored his grandchildren.

Bob is survived by two sons: Rocky (Sandy) Hofstetter, Hartland, WI, and Rob (Linda) Hofstetter, Brookfield, WI; three grandsons: Rocky Hofstetter Jr., Jason (Kamila) Bonnert and Justin Hofstetter; two great-grandchildren, Jakub and Anabella Bonnert; two brothers: Frank (Shirley) Hofstetter, and Richard (Shirlee) Hofstetter; a sister, Patsy (Leonard) Simoneau; two brothers-in-law: Paul (Mindy) Condella and Jack (Lyn) Condella; four sisters-in-law: Bonnie Hofstetter, Marilyn (Joe) Mayer, Joyce Benes, and Patty (Mike) Tank; an aunt, Tina Miller; special cousin, Alvin (Sandy) Schramm; many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.


Bob was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Freddie Hofstetter, Jerry Hofstetter, Gordon (Annie) Sperb and Eugene (Stella) Sperb; and a brother-in-law, Arnie Benes; and two uncles and an aunt: Bob (Olive) Miller, and LeRoy "Whitey" Miller.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 12 noon at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont. Rev. Marlin Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established for Make A Wish Foundation and the Special Olympics.

Bob's family would like to extend a special Thank You to all of the doctors, nurses, and Aurora VNA Zilber Family Hospice Home for all of their special loving care during his illness.
