She was born April 13, 1917, at Paradise, Kansas, the daughter of Jonathan C. and Caroline Pauline Kohler Maier.
She graduated from Russell High School in 1934, and Brown-Mackie Business College in Salina in 1935. She was a homemaker and had worked as a clerk at the Sylvia Post Office for 35 years. She was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ.
She married Willis E. Clothier on Feb. 22, 1941, in St. John. He died Nov. 10, 1969.
Survivors include: two sons, Jerry Clothier (Hazel), Benton, and Virgil Clothier (Pam), Sylvia; a daughter, Jeanie Montford (Gary), Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Maier, and a sister, Pauline Albrecht.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary, with Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Burial will be in Peace Creek Cemetery, in rural Stafford county. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, with the family to greet friends Sunday 3 to 5 p.m., all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
