Maria Pierce was a daughter of William Haskell and his unknown wife, whose first name was possibly "Catherine." Maria was the stepdaughter of the Rundells, not their biological daughter (see the 1850 census of St. Lawrence County, NY). She had two known sisters: Catherine "Kate" Haskell Carlisle who lived in Ottawa County, Michigan and Emily J. Haskell Cobb. She had one known brother, John A. Haskell, who was my great-grandfather. There may have been another brother, William Haskell, who lived with a Piper family and who may have been known as William Piper or Pifer. According to Catherine Haskell Carlisle's obituary (she died about 1904), there were a total of 9 children so there are four siblings unaccounted for.
