Mary Moore Johnson Golden, 89, a resident of Sand Run Road, Philippi, and a former resident of Akron, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, Jan. 10, 2004, in Nella's Inc. at Crystal Springs.
She was born Jan. 18, 1914, at Meadowville, the daughter of the late Okey James and Minnie Watkins Moore.
She was twice married. On June 14, 1931, she was united in marriage to Frank Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1950. On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to John A. Golden, who survives at Sand Run Road, Philippi.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, L.R. "Dick" Johnson and wife, Dessie Moss Johnson, of Sebring, Fla., and W.T. "Bill" Johnson and wife, Della Constable Johnson, of Sand Run Road, Philippi; 9 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, six brothers and one great-grandson.
Prior to her marriage she was a homemaker. She retired in 1968 as an electronic assembler.
She was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, the service hour. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Rosenberger officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home service.
