It was known that after George died, that John, being the only surviving son, and the youngest child, got extra attention from his mother Teresa, who was devastated by the death of George.
After getting out of the Army, and marrying Eileen Crowley on March 24, 1956, in Chicago, John worked all or most of his life in the construction industy. He was very knowledgeable about many trades having to do with residential construction.
He lived in Orland Park, Illinois; Chicago, Illinois; and Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, where his parents had had a summer home in the 1940s and 1950s.
John and Eileen had five children: John, "Johnny" as a child; Kathleen, "Kelley"; Daniel, "Danny" and "Dan"; Marie, and George.
John was proud of his (half) German heritage. He was also half Irish, but this writer never heard him comment on that :)
John worked hard and played hard. Business was business, but when the time came, John could be the life of the party. For decades, nothing slowed him down, until he hit about his mid 60s.
