She married 6 Sep 1874, Clay Co., IL to Leander H. Ingraham, son of Barton B. and Jane C. (Johnston) Ingraham, who are both buried at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, Clay Co., IL. According to her later census entries, her father was born in in Ohio or Germany and her mother in Ohio.

They had four children, only one of whom survived her.

In 1880, they were living in Clay Co., IL with two children. Ella was still using the name Sarah:
