Colyn was born in Riverside, California on October 25, 1994 and passed away in Los Angeles, California on January 14, 2010 after a lifetime battle against Mitochondrial Disease.

Colyn is survived by his loving parents Patricia and Darrell Woods; Brother Kyle; 3 sisters Alyssa, Kayla, & Brittany; brother in law Justin; grandparents Dorothy & Herm Pflugradt, Stan & Pam Morgan, and Joe & Marcia Woods; great-grandma Gladys Garcia; aunts and uncles Ken, Elizabeth, Matt, Jimmy, Pete, & Paula; many cousins; nephew Ben; and his service dog Fina.

Colyn loved experiencing life and lived courageously. He enjoyed watching Star Trek, playing video games, camping, kayaking, going on vacations, and spending time with his family. Colyn also knew and loved Jesus. He was very intelligent, wise beyond his years but full of passion for those around him. His family will miss his compassionate, strong-willed and caring spirit.

A celebration of Colyn‚s life will take place at Revival Christian Fellowship in Menifee on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Colyn Woods Memorial fund through Fire Family Foundation, c/o LA Firemen‚s Credit Union.
