After a long and blessed life, ALCIE WEAVER DeJARNETT, 98, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away on July 9, 2011. She was born September 28, 1912, in Milton, WV, a daughter of the late Jeat and Fannie Perry Weaver. She was preceded in death by Scott, her husband of 51 years, daughter Madeline Ray, and grandchildren Jill DeJarnett and Kendall Ray. She was blessed with her daughter, Judy and Perry Morrison of Milton, WV and son Jim and Betty DeJarnett of Orondo, Washington. She is also survived by son-in-law Wandall Ray and sons Dr. James Diehl and Steve Diehl, sister Lucille Ross and special niece, Kay Vickers. Her grandchildren include Lisa Lewis, Suzanne Passero, Scott, Kerry and Jeff DeJarnett, Marilyn Mays, Carolyn Reeder, Jerry Ray, and Scott and Brian Diehl. She had 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and many caring friends and neighbors. She was a homemaker who loved writing, flowers and gardening. She served the Lord as a member of Enon Baptist Church. She is treasured in the hearts of many for her kind words and deeds. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Sam Morris and Dr. James Diehl on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery in Salt Rock, WV.

Alcie was the mother of Julia Ann "Judy" (DeJarnett) Morrison, stepmother of Madaline "Maddie" (DeJarnett) Ray and James "Jim" DeJarnett and foster mother of James and Steve Diehl.
