Mrs. Ella Hefner Called Yesterday after long illnessMrs. Ella Hefner, 79, a well known, life long citizen and Lexington passed away at her home in this city, Oct. 25, 1939.
Death was due to heart trouble. She had been in declining health for several years and seriously ill.
As Ella Roberts, she was born in Lexington Feb. 23, 1860, the daughter of David and Sarah Roberts. She was reared and educated here. She was married in 1880 to Howard N. Hefner who preceded her in death. They were the parents of 3 children, one son George survives. There are 3 grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Miss Winnie Roberts and a brother in law Patrick Hanley, with whom she made her home. She was a member of the Christian Church, the Rebekah and Royal Neighbor lodges.
