Mrs. Betty R. Doherty, 54, of 419 W. Main St., Olney, was dead on arrival Tuesday morning, May 9, 1978 at Richland Memorial Hospital. She was taken to the hospital after falling from the steps at a neighbor's home. Susan Landis, Richland county coroner, said the fall resulted only in superficial injuries and that death was the result of heart disease. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Memorial Chapel of the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Gordon officiating. Interment will be in Crest Haven Memorial Park.
Mrs. Doherty was a native of Wayne County. She was the daughter of David Kutch and Nora McCumber Kutch. On June 6, 1945, she was married to William E. Doherty. She was a member of the Cisne Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband, William; four children, Tony Doherty of Olney, Jeffrey Doherty of Carbondale, Mrs. Patricia Durall of Bruceville, Ind., and Mrs. Mary Lou Roberts of Lawrenceville; four grandchildren; a brothers and three sisters, Charles E. Kutch, Mrs. Nora Belle Simpson, both living in Texas, Mrs. Lucille Omar and Mrs, Phyllis Igert, both of Flora.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant grandchildren.
