John Sebastian White was the son of Andrew B. White and his second wife, Sarah C. Williams. Andrew first appears on Fannin County tax rolls in 1848 with 160 acres of preemption land. He came to Texas from St. Francois County, Missouri, along with several members of the family of his first wife, Elizabeth Sebastian. Elizabeth died in 1859, and Andrew then married Sarah Williams who was the daughter of John Jefferson Williams, neighbors of his back in Missouri.
