Rachel Perez Abeyta, 53, of Hoquiam, Wash., formerly of Silver City, entered into eternal rest Friday, March 13, at Providence St. Peter's Hospital in Olympia, Wash., after a five-year battle with cancer. Services will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Cedar Hills Tabernacle in Silver City. The furneral service will be held Monday morning at 10 at Cedar Hills Tabernacle. Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Perez Sr., Pastor of Cedar Hills Tabernacle, will officiate. She was born March 4, 1945, in Silver City to Pedro G. Perez and Maria Almanza Perez. She grew up in Hanover and graduated from Cobre High School in 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Hills Tabernacle. She enjoyed hiking in the mountains. Mrs. Abeyta was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. She is survived by her companion of five years, Phil Jug Krimbel of Hoqulam; four sons, Benjamin Abeyta and his companion, Gina Baca, of Bayard, Jonathan Abeyta and his wife, Elva, of Aberdeen, Wash., Matthew Abeyta and his wife, Melissa, of Silver City, and Jeremy Abeyta and his companion, Kathy Baca, of Aberdeen; five brothers, Moises Perez of West Covina, Calif., Mike Perez of Silver City, Abraham Perez of Hanover, Danny Perez of Santa Clara and Thomas Perez Sr. of Silver City; sisters, Nena Tovar of La Puente, Calif., Martha Parra of Bayard, Becky Sanchez of Silver City, Ruth Collins of Silver City and Mary Eva Arguijo of Silver City; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Abeyta, in 1991, and by her father, mother, and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Moises Perez, Mike Perez, Abraham Perez, Danny Perez, Ross Collins and Ruben Abeyta. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels, U.S. 180 East at Delk Drive.
