Eusebio L. Abeyta, 82, a lifelong resident of Silver City, passed away Friday at Gila Regional Medical Center. He was born March 3, 1914, to Santiago and Hilaria Lopez Abeyta in Silver City. Mr. Abeyta retired as a furnace man for Kennecott, Copper Corp.an was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Magdalena, of the home; two sons, Ruben Abeyta and his wife, Susie, of Silver City and Frank Abeyta and his wife, Juanita, of Silver City; two daughters, Natalia Catasus and her husband, Ralph, of West Covina, Calif., and Ylaria Pino of Silver City; one sister, Betty Aragon of Silver City; 28 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jumbo Abeyta. in 1991; a grandson, Chon Pino, in 1987; and a granddaughter, Cathy Abeyta, in 1978. Visitation will start at 5 p.m. today at Baca's Funeral Chapels, followed by the rosary at 7 with Deacon Johnny Perez reciting. The Mass of resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Rod Nichols will officiate. Concluding services and burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Andrew Pino, Jonatbon Abeyta, Ruben Abeyta Jr., Gilbert Abeyta, George Ortga and Gilbert Peru. Entrusted to the care of Baca funeral chapels.
