J. BERL McGEE
Services for J. Berl McGee will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec, 27 at the Stufflebean Funeral Chapel, officiated by John Curtis. Intermit at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
J. Berl McGee was born on Feb. 18, 1916 in St. Louis, Okla to Horace and Carrie Lingerfelt McGee. He passed away On Friday, Feb. 26, 1999 at the Tender Heart Health Care Facility in Pauls Valley.
Berl was a lifelong member of the Pauls Valley community, living and farming the river bottom east of town. In 1936, Berl and Edna Roberts were married. The ensuing years yeilded a harvest of three childred and a life rich with family farming and dedication to one another that blessed all who knew him.
Berl graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1934. He was a member of the Paul & Pine Church of Christ and a
32nd degree Mason at Valley Lodge #6. Early in married life he worked for the family farming operation. In 1962 he was hired by G. F. Wacker to distribute merchandise via long distance truck. He retired from Wacker's in 1981 to work full time at farming and ranching.
In 1997, Berl lost his beloved wife of 61 years. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clyde McGee, Ralph McGee and Roy McGee; infant son,Michael McGee; and granddaughter , Katie McGee.
He is survived by three children; Anna Jo Darnell of Wichita Falls, Tx., Roy A. McGee of Elmore City, and Randy McGee of Pauls Valley; nine grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, Brother, Carl McGee of Pauls Valley, and numerous brothers and sisters inlaw, neices and nephews and a lifetime of friend and fellow farmers.
