George Whitfield Tvedtnes 1942 ~ 2011 George Whitfield Tvedtnes, age 68, died at his residence in Salt Lake City on July 8, 2011. He was born in Mandan, North Dakota, September 18, 1942, but had lived in Utah since 1949. He graduated from West High School in 1961 and attended the University of Utah before joining the U.S. Air Force, serving in the U.S. and in Germany. Following his military service, he worked as a private detective and then was employed the rest of his life in the trucking industry and in a security service. Preceded in death by his parents, Alex C. and Margaret C. Tvedtnes, and a sister, Sandra C. White, he is survived by a brother, John and John's six children and 12 grandchildren. George was briefly married but left no posterity. A graveside service will be held at Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 S. Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah on Monday, July 18 at 1:00 p.m.
