The Oldham Era, LaGrange, KY, 17 Sept 1926, p. 1, col. 3: "MRS. AMANDA FISHBACK - Mrs. Amanda Whitesides Fishback, aged 83 years, widow of Charles A. Fishback, died at the home of her son, Felix J. Fishback, Friday afternoon after a lingering illness of several years, resulting from a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Fishback was in the habit of spending the summers with her son and her winters in Louisville with her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Shrader. Mrs. Fishback was born, married and died in the same house, which was the Whitesides home for many years. She is survived by two sons, Fred Fishback of Louisville, and Felix Fishback of near LaGrange, three daughters, Mrs. Thos. Shrader and Mrs. George Ballard of Louisville, and invalid daughter, Miss Maud Fishback, and quite a number of grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with a large number in attendance and the Rev. J. W. Crates in charge. After the service in the home a long procession of automobiles followed the body to the Valley of Rest, LaGrange, where it was interred by the side of her husband with the burial service if the church. A large number of friends accompanied the children and grandchildren to the service from Louisville, going back to Louisville immediately after the service. The funeral party was met at the cemetery by a large number of friends. There were a number of lively designs of flowers sent by friends."
