Centralia – Helen J. Oglesby, 86, of Centralia died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct 15, 2006, at Centralia Manor.
She was born on March 3, 1920, in Harrisburg. She married Victor Jones, who was killed in action during World War II. She then married George Oglesby on Sept. 21, 1946, in Harrisburg, and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1993.
Mrs. Oglesby is survived by three sons, Bob Jones and wife Betty of Oklahoma and Ralph Oglesby and wife Melody and Keith Oglesby and wife Diane, all of Centralia; four daughters, Vicki Sharp and husband Donald of Texas, Sandy Migliore and husband Tom of Freeport, Kathy Maples and husband Ronnie of Memphis, Tenn., and Judy Terrill and husband Scott of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Oglesby; a brother, and two sisters.
Mrs Oglesby was a housewife and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Centralia. She had lived in Centralia since 1958, and previously in Odin, Sandoval, Millstadt, and Harrisburg.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Irvin Funeral Home Chapel in Centralia with Pastor Linda Gordon officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
