Funeral services were held Thurs afternoon, 16 Sept [1948] for Cecil Edward Judd who was killed in action 29 Nov 1944, in Germany at the age of 23. The services were held in Pea Ridge Church by the Rev. Manley Towles and military rites were conducted at the grave in the Greensburg cem. by members of the Greensburg Post American Legion. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Judd, Sergeant Judd was inducted into the army in Aug 1942, and received this training at Camp Swift, Texas; Fort. Sam Houston, Texas; Camp Polk, La; Camp Coxcomb, Cal and Indiantown Gap, Pa. In Aug 1944 he embarked for the European Theatre where he served in Northern France and the Rhineland. His total service was 33 months. Besides his parents he is survived by 4 sisters, Mrs. Walter Pennington, Taylor Co., and Misses Louise Judd, Lavern Judd, and Florence Judd, all of Green Co. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 12 and united with the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he remained a member until death.
