Father Thomas A. Clifford OP., a Dominican Friar of St. Martin de Porres Province, died at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the age of 81. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, he entered the Dominican novitiate at St. Stephen Priory, Dover, Massachusetts in 1953, and was ordained to the priestood in Washington D.C., by Cardinal Egidio Vagnozzi on June 16, 1960.

In New Orleans, Father Clifford served as parochial vicar of St. Anthony of Padua Church from 1990 until 1998, and prior between 1992 and 1998. His ministry also included assignments in Miami, Florida; Dover, Massachusetts; Charlottesville, Virgina; Miami Shores, Florida; Berkeley, California; Oakland, California; Lufkin, Texas; and Houston, Texas.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare Chapel, 5200 Gen. de Gaulle Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at 9.30 am., with visitation beginning at 8.30. Interment was held in the Dominican Friars Cemetery, Rosaryville, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at a later date.
