He drowned at Piney Point while his family was visiting the shore. He was the son of Joseph Powell Carr of the St. Louis produce exchange, and Mary Eliza LIly Morrison Carr. He was the grandson of James Lowry Donaldson Morrison, the brother of Interstate Commerce Commissioner, William R. Morrison.
