FRAZEYSBURG - Betty Lou Leas, 80, of Cass Irish Ridge Road, Dresden, died at 2 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at her home.

Born May 5, 1923, in Frazeysburg, she was the daughter of the late Ivan C. and Eva A. (Smith) Stokes, and she was a 1941 graduate of Frazeysburg High School. Mrs. Leas was a homemaker and a Tupperware manager and sales person for many years. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of Zanesville and was a charter member of the Frazeysburg Fifty Club.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Robert M. Leas, whom she married July 27, 1942; one son, Richard (Judy) Leas of Dresden; three daughters, Patricia (Jack) Boyd of Zanesville, Marsha (Randy) Tigner of Dresden, and Annette (Dan) Newcome of Nashport; three brothers, Ivan (Audrey) Stokes of Dresden, Don (Christine) Stokes of Palmer, Pa. and Bob (Joyce) Stokes of Ashland; two sisters, Jean Oravis and Joanne (Carroll) Bumpus, both of Frazeysburg; 13 grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Stokes; and two sisters, Janice Riley and Kathryn Frazier.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 Third St, Frazeysburg.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at Frazeysburg United Methodist Church, 87 W. Second St., Frazeysburg, with the Rev. Robert Davidson officiating. Burial will be at Frazeysburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 545 Richey Road, Zanesville, OH 43701. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
