Mrs. Eli M. Blood is Dead

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Francelia (Ames) Blood, 91, widow of Eli M. Blood and a resident of Stamford until recently, who died Monday at the home of her son, Harry M. Blood, in Paradise, Cal. A native of Hannibal Center, N. Y., Mrs. Blood was born Dec. 2, 1856, a daughter of John and Abigail (Cook) Ames. At 14 years of age she came to Stamford to live with her aunt, Mrs. Russell Niles. She married Eli Blood of Stamford Sept. 1, 1872. For many years Mrs. Blood was active in both church and community life in Stamford. She was a member of the Stamford Methodist church and was a charter and an honorary member of Stamford Valley grange. She spent most of her life at the Blood homestead in Stamford. She leaves besides her son, a daughter, Mrs. Albert Foster of Stamford, 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held this afternoon in Paradise, Cal. Burial will be in Stamford in the spring.
