As a young girl, Mrs. Coon lived on the Parrot Grant Ranch before moving to Durham in 1919. She lived in Durham until 1989 when she moved to Chico. Mrs. Coon attended Chico High School and graduated from Durham High School. She later worked at Durham Drug Store and Fountain.
A member of the Durham Grange, Mrs. Coon also taught a 4-H sewing class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen T. Coon, in 1966. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Hildenbrand of Chico; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Durham Volunteer Fire Department in Care of Brusie Funeral Home, which made the arrangements. Burial will take place at Chico Cemetery.
