Hortense was the wife of Raymond Carey, and mother of Patrick Daniel (March 17, 1936 in Oakland Ca) who married Imelda, James Augustin (11/14/37 to 1/2/75), a stillborn child per McNevin stories and Delores who was married James Kile and grandmother to Delores's seven children: Amy, Gina, Marie, James, Simon Peter, Phillip and Jessie. She was injured in an auto accident and had a crippled hand, but that did not stop her from doing anything she wanted to do. She was of Hispanic heritage (mother maiden name Drew, father Herrera) and was a funny, warm lady. She was also a terrific cook.

Her ashes were scattered at sea.
