TRAVISVILLE LADY PASSED AWAY THURSDAY EVENING. -FUNERAL SUNDAY.
Mrs. Caroline Zoll passed away at 5 o'clock Thursday evening at her home at Travisville, after a brief illness of only four days. She became sick last Monday with pleurisy, and complications developed which caused her to decline rapidly. Her children were at her bedside when the death summons came to her. The decadent, Caroline Alspach Zoll, was a native of Ohio, a daughter of George Alspach and wife, pioneers of that state, and was born January 2, 1829. She was 82 years of age last January. She was united in marriage in 1850 at Findlay, Ohio, with Eli Zoll. They came to Indiana in 1880 and they first settled on a farm west of Murray, where they lived a number of years. Later they disposed of their property west of Murray and they lived for a few years on a farm which they bought about three miles south of Bluffton. They resided in this city also at two different periods, until about four years ago they bought a small property at Travisville, where they retired to spend their declining years. Mr. Zoll preceeded his wife by a little more than a year, having passed away on April 1, 1910. There were born to Mr. and Mrs. Zoll eight children, of whom two sons and two daughters are dead, and four sons survive. The four surviving children are Milton and Edward Zoll, of this city, and Imhoff C. and David Zoll, who reside on farm in this county. Mrs. Zoll is also survived by one brother, John Alspach, of Weston, Ohio. Mrs. Zoll had ever been held in highest esteem in the community and was revered by a wide circle of friends. She and her husband while residing west of Murray both united with the Lutheran church of Rockcreek township. The funeral of Mrs. Zoll was held Sunday afternoon, with the cortege leaving the residence at Travisville for this city at one o'clock. Services were held at the Reformed church at two o'clock, and burial was in Fairview cemetery. --Bluffton Chronicle Wednesday, April 26, 1911
